There are three Cs in life: choice, chance, change. You must make a choice to take a chance, if you want anything in life to change.

Therapy for Teens & Young Adults

I specialize in therapeutically treating teens and young adults struggling with anxiety & depression, complex trauma & attachment disorders, grief & challenging life transitions, chronic pain, OCD & BFRB, and overcoming limiting beliefs and negative thought patterns.

My Therapy Practice utilizes a person-centered and narrative therapy approach while incorporating aspects of CBT, DBT, Self-Compassion, Creative Counseling & Internal Family Systems (parts-work) modalities.

My Master's in Clinical Mental Counseling & Psychotherapy is from Adam's State University in Colorado. I am currently accepting new therapy clients who are teens or young adults (ages 13-25) or the parents of teens/young adults residing in Texas or Colorado. I work with new therapy clients and their families as a counseling associate under the supervision of Rachel Rainey, LPC-S.

I'm passionate about providing therapy that blends insights from various disciplines to help you better understand and nurture your mind. My approach combines the wisdom of neuroscience, psychology, and more, all with the aim of delving into how relationships play a pivotal role in shaping and influencing the brain.

In my practice, I place a special emphasis on the profound importance of social connections in human development, mental health, and overall well-being. I draw from Interpersonal Neurobiology (IPNB) to explore how our brain dynamically responds to social interactions. This understanding highlights the significance of attachment, empathy, and communication in molding our neural pathways, ultimately impacting how we think, feel, and behave.

Integration is at the core of my therapeutic philosophy. I firmly believe in the power of balanced and harmonious interconnection within the mind, where thoughts, emotions, and memories seamlessly come together. When these elements are skillfully integrated, it leads to greater mental flexibility, adaptability, and resilience. Integration is the key to emotional regulation, fostering healthy relationships, and achieving overall psychological well-being.

If you're looking for therapy that not only helps you understand the intricate workings of your mind but also empowers you to create meaningful change in your life, I'm here to support you on your journey towards a more integrated and fulfilling existence. Together, we can explore the profound impact of relationships on your brain and work towards greater mental harmony and emotional well-being.

I couldn’t recommend Miranda Dawn enough. After one conversation with her, I knew connecting her and my daughter would help her grow and work through her issues. My daughter, 14 and a freshman in high school, was in a place where she desperate for help but it was beyond what my husband and I could do for her. She was willing to put in the time and effort so we searched around for our options... a friend of mine put me in touch with Miranda Dawn and it was a perfect match for all of us. She has helped my daughter understand herself better, have self compassion, and grace to be who she is. Her growth from September until March was amazing. We thank you, Miranda Dawn!
